Fighting Against Milford Housing Density Expansion

Milford Planning Board’s Draft “Cottage Court Ordinances” poses a significant threat to Milford and its taxpayers. These ordinances aim to increase housing density. They also seek to expand the population. The goals align with the interests of the Nashua Regional Planning Commission and the State of New Hampshire’s housing policies. Milford’s planning board has become a mere puppet for external forces, including large landowners, developers, and bankers.

Milford doesn’t have a genuine housing problem, given that 90% of its residents commute outside of Milford to work. The housing problem is prevalent in towns and cities where residents of Milford commute to work. This isn’t about Milford’s housing needs. Instead, it is about the desires of others. They expect Milford taxpayers to fund their needs.

They want to turn Milford into the region’s slum, with her taxpaying homeowners and businesses footing the tab! Milford’s children attend substandard and noncompetitive schools. Its citizens experience substandard roads and infrastructure. Prosperity falls into the hands of the few and is safeguarded in surrounding wealthier towns.

We must resist this distortion and abuse of facts. We must also tackle the evident neglect of Milford’s Planning Board. They are not prioritizing the town’s best interests. It’s time to show the facts clearly. Residents need to make informed decisions. They should demand, through a petition warrant article, an elected planning board.
